What are Spooling Alerts?
A spooling alert is a notification that is sent to designated contacts when there is a problem with an organizations email queues. An alert notification is sent if queues exceed a pre-defined threshold. An all-clear notification is sent when successful message delivery has resumed.
Configure Spooling Alerts
To enable spooling alerts:
- Sign-in to the user interface.
- Type the name of the account you wish to configure in the search bar.
- Locate and click the account name when it appears.
- Click the Alerts tab.
- Click the enable toggle to enable spooling alerts.
- Click Send To and choose who should receive the alert.
- A spooling alert can be sent to the account’s admin or technical contact. You can confirm these contacts by viewing the account information section on the Profile page.
- Click Alert Delivery Method and choose the alert delivery method.
- A spooling alert can be delivered as an Email or an SMS. In order to deliver an SMS, the contact(s) must have a value configured for mobile number (added on the users profile).
- Click Save.
To enable spooling alerts for all accounts (Partner access only):
- Sign-in to the user interface.
- Click the Customers tab.
- Click the Automation Settings button.
- Check Enable Spooling Alerts.
- Click Send To and choose who should receive the alert.
- Click Alert Delivery Method and choose the alert delivery method.
- Check Update Spooling Alerts Settings for all existing customers.
- Click Save.
Example Alert Notifications
Spooling alerts can be sent as emails, SMS messages, or both. Only one message per alert type is sent to each contact when a queue reaches its threshold. When the alert is cleared, contacts receive an all clear notification.
